The Shia Muslim student community at Michigan
Student-run since its founding, ISA is a member of the Muslim Coalition at the University of Michigan and open to anyone who wants to learn.
Mission
The mission of the Islamic Society of Ahlulbayt at the University of Michigan is to provide a welcoming space for Muslims and other interested individuals to learn, connect, and serve in accordance with the teachings of the Quran, the Prophet (SAW), and the Ahlulbayt (AS).
ISA is established for the express purpose of providing an atmosphere of reflection and contemplation for interested individuals, in accordance with the sacred teachings of Islam. We are a core member of our Muslim community at U-M and firmly stand against Islamophobic and anti-Shi'i sentiment.
We do this through raising awareness, discussions, social events, fundraisers, and speaker events.
Student-run
ISA is led by a student executive board elected each year. Programs are planned and run by students.
Part of the Muslim Coalition
ISA organizes under the Muslim Coalition at U-M alongside other Muslim student organizations, and collaborates with them through the year.
Open to all
Shia, Sunni, Muslim or not, student or not. If you want to learn or just be around good people, you are welcome.
